My Gunky Trip to Jordan

In the summer of 2011, my parents and I spent a week of our summer vacation in Jordan. We booked the hotels, bought tickets, and boarded the plane. Luckily, there were no delays, and it only took about twenty hours for us to reach Jordan,
including a stop in Paris for about three hours.
But something gross happened when we were in Paris waiting for the plane. A drunk man stumbled past us, holding some half-eaten junk food from McDonalds. Right when he was about to turn the corner and be out of view, he bent over, puking gunk mixed with wine all over the floor. That scene was so disgusting, I will never forget it.
By the time we reached our hotel in the downtown part of Jordan at midnight, we were exhausted from the long plane rides. My parents slept in one of the beds, while I slept in the other. We were snoring in just a matter of seconds.
Next morning, after sleeping our fill, we went to rent a car. Most of the cars were very junky, so it took us a long time to find one that was reasonable. But when we opened the trunk of one sedan, it stunk a lot. Inside was a rotten carcass of a skunk. It must have somehow snuck into the trunk and gotten stuck in when no one opened it. It must have starved to death because there was no food in there. I almost fell down from the surprise. The manager apologized and cleaned up the mess.  Then he found us a tidy SUV for a good price. We agreed, paid money, and drove the SUV away.
Our destination was a unique museum on the outskirts of town that contained valuable artifacts from the lands of Jordan.   I liked the museum’s crafts, especially the ancient clay pots, which were very delicately and beautifully decorated. After the museum, I was hungry and we were pretty far away from town, so we found a little traditional Arabic restaurant. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed tasting the flavors new to us. After eating we needed to use the restroom, so my mom asked the cashier where they were.  She told us it was right next door, to our right. The restrooms stunk so much we almost fainted. There were a lot flies hovering over dried lumps of poo. A lot of drunk men and women stood outside swigging beer joking around.
Even though I had lots of fun in Jordan, the many gunky images destroyed all the happy moments and made me hate this vacation!
