Hello, everybody! My name is Justin and if I get the opportunity to become teacher for the day, I will try to make your learning as fun as possible. If I get picked, here is my plans for the day.
First of all, you will be surprised by the breakfast and lunch served at school. A delicious breakfast of eggs, hash browns, and pancakes will be waiting for you. Class will start at 8:20 instead of 8:05, so your recess will be longer and you will have enough time to enjoy the breakfast. Once everybody is ready, we will have thirty minutes of silent reading, and ten minutes for a summary of what you just read. I will call on people to read their summaries out aloud. Anyone who reads their entry can get three pieces of candy from my candy basket. Then we will go on the campus and form groups of six. Try to figure out at least three types of different trees and collect samples of the trees’ leaves. We will take them inside and sketch them. Then at about 9:45, we can go out early and start playing. I will provide you with healthy snacks, like pretzels and cookies for free.
After recess, I will give you an hour of free time, in which you can do whatever you want that’s appropriate. We could have people take turns on the computers, or I could put up a movie like Harry Potter. We can decide on that later. After that, I will give you guys each three handfuls of Skittles, M&Ms, pretzels, goldfish, Cheese Its, marshmallows, and cheese puffs. You are to categorize them and then make a bar graph from the data. I am sure this will be one of your favorite math lessons. Of course, after you are finished, you can eat the snacks. With the time we have left, you guys can use wafer cookies and cream to build pyramids. Make them into the shape of a square pyramid, and use the cream to stick them together. Don’t eat your pyramids now, because you already had too much sugar, but you can when you get home. Then we can see how similar your pyramids are to the real Egyptian pyramids, which we will be learning in Egyptian history in the ten minutes before lunch.
As I said before, I will supply lunch for you guys. There will be a choice of either In’n’Out burgers or Subway Sandwiches, along with a Capri Sun or water. We will also have Skinny Cows for dessert. I’ll have handball, giant three square, and tetherball contests at lunch recess. The first, second, third, and fourth places will each get a prize.
After lunch, when we cool down from recess, I will be taking you guys out to the basketball courts to play dodge ball until 2:20. Each member of winning team will get two pieces of candy. Then we can start packing up and getting ready to leave. The only homework will be reading for at least twenty minutes and watching a sports channel for half an hour. You can write down at least three things you learn from the sport you are watching. Then school will end at 2:35!
