Boring Vs Fascinating

Boring
This morning, I went to school. I was the first one to get inside the classroom. I took out my homework and lunch and put them on my table. When the rest of the class came in, I was finished unpacking, and I looked around the classroom.
Class started. I saw that there were big, gray clouds above. A bit later it started raining.  While we were correcting our Wake-Ups, there was a loud knock. Our teacher, Mrs. Walters, told me to go open the door. I quickly opened the sliding door and out in the rain was a student that was very wet. He walked slowly to Mrs. Walters’s desk and gave her the tardy pass. Mrs. Walters took the pass and said to the whole class, “This is Bob, our new student.”
There was little applause for the new student, Bob. He seemed to be from some foreign country and was wearing a pair of funny, big trousers. Some students laughed at his funny look, but I guessed he would be a good friend. Some intuition told me that this new boy would bring fun to us. And my intuitions are usually right.

Fascinating
This morning, I sauntered to school. I was the first one to walk inside the classroom. I took out my homework and lunch and set them down carefully on my table. When the rest of the class stormed in noisily, I was finished unpacking, and looked around the classroom silently.
The class started as usual and I glanced up and noticed that there were giant metallic gray clouds overhead. A bit later it started drizzling steadily. When we were correcting our Wake-Ups, there was an urgent knock from the sliding door behind me. Our teacher, Mrs. Walters, told me to go open the door. I reluctantly opened it and out in the rain was an unfamiliar boy that was drenched from the steady shower. Some of my classmates were starting to whisper to themselves about this boy. He walked cautiously to Mrs. Walters’s desk, not wanting to drip water on our things, and gave her the tardy pass. Mrs. Walters took the pass politely and said to the whole class, “This is Bob, our new student.”
There was little applause lack of enthusiasm for the new student, Bob. He seemed to be from some foreign country and was wearing a pair of hilariously big trousers. Some students laughed at his appearance, but I guessed he could be a suitable companion at school. Some intuition told me that this new boy would bring joy and surprises to us. And my intuitions are always true.

Mrs. Walters is one of my favorite teachers at Chaparral
